Rev. Kathye Allison Schade is a second-career clergy who entered the ministry with her husband 1991. She has a BS from North Texas State University and a Masters of Divinity from Brite Divinity School. Her first appointment in the Central Texas Conference, while attending seminary, was a co-pastorate with her husband, Jay, to a two-point charge in Itasca and Osceola. Next, she and her husband served as co-pastors at Central United Methodist Church in Waco.
In 1997, the Bishop, cabinet and Church Growth Director appointed her as the second woman in the Central Texas Conference to be a new-church-start pastor. Her husband was appointed to Tenth Street United Methodist in
Taylor. In time, it was determined that Hutto United Methodist was more of a turn-around church.
Kathye’s husband, Jay, continues to maintain his credentials as a United Methodist minister. He is the Director of Information Technology Services for Williamson County. They have three grown children: Tyler 26, Trent 24 and Kindyl 22.
