The Discovery Center, Hutto Discovery's event venue, is a modern multi-purpose facility dedicated to serving our community, children, and youth. Frequently Asked Questions

Common uses
The Discovery Center is used by individuals and community groups for:
  • Celebrations: Birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, reunions, holiday gatherings, wedding showers, gender reveals, receptions, parties.
  • Community: Non-profits, scouting, athletic, civic and faith organizations, homeowner's associations, social gatherings, recovery programs, special interest groups, arts and craft fairs, fundraisers.
  • Education: Counseling, after-school programs, home-school activities, summer camps, financial, home-buyer, ESL and wellness classes.
  • Business: Meetings, conferences, retreats, special events, award ceremonies, workshops, flexible office space, markets, holiday parties.
Size and capacity
Our event spaces are sized to accommodate the following:
  • Great Room - approx. 1,800 SF - around 120 people comfortably
  • Meeting Rooms - approx. 400 SF - around 25 people comfortably
Larger group?  Consider utilizing both the Great Room and Meeting Room 1 
Food, drink, and kitchen use
The Discovery Center has a dedicated refrigerator and full warming kitchen for light food preparations.  Our campus is alcohol and tobacco free.
Cost and availability
The Discovery Center is one of our community's more affordable meeting and event spaces. It is a simple, practical, well-loved venue that is kept active in serving our neighbors. Rental fees vary depending on space and use.  Please contact Yvette to schedule a tour, check availability for your event, and discuss applicable rates!
Tables and chairs
The Discovery Center typically has the following furniture available.  Please note that not all the tables can be used at the same time.
  • Fifteen (15) 60" round tables - each seats 6-10 people
  • Ten (10) 6' x 3' rectangular tables - each seats 6-10 people
  • One hundred twenty (120) chairs
  • Three (3) children's high chairs
Audio and visual
The Discovery Center's Great Room has a stage with integrated audio/visual capabilities including smart TVs, microphones, speakers, and a sound mixing board appropriate for presentations, movie nights, slideshows, home-school dances, karaoke parties, and small music performances.
