United Methodists are:
- Sent out for mission and service. We insist that personal salvation always involves Christian mission and service to the world.
- Focused on relationship and a faith journey. Faith is a lifelong process of growth and learning.
- Connectional. Joined together with United Methodists all over the world.
- United in essentials, given liberty in nonessentials. John Wesley's familiar saying was, "As to all opinions which do not strike at the root of Christianity, we think and let think."
