Mark 6:1-13
Lord, grant us the confidence and courage to speak with Your voice, to see as You see, and to love as You love. In this world of uncertainty and chaos, give us the peace to know that You are with us, no matter where we are, no matter where we have been, no matter where we are going. We look to You for the wisdom and guidance to lead us through. Amen.

Wednesday March 3, 2021 Mark 6:14-29 Precious Lord Jesus, You raised up John the Baptist to prepare the people for your precious Son. You daily fill us with God’s grace and You direct our minds in the way of peace, reconciliation, and salvation. Grant, that as John was martyred for the truth, so we might profess our faith in You. Please help us to proclaim Your word and walk in the Way as an example for others to see and follow. Amen by Vicki Lowrey | Thursday March 4, 2021 Mark 6:30-56 Have you ever noticed how many stories of Jesus revolved around food or meals? If Jesus were alive today, I bet he would enjoy a nice church potluck. Food was a central part of many of Jesus’ stories and parables. Food is not only a necessity to live, but meals are where life happens. Meals are where stories are shared, conversations are cultivated and relationships are deepened. Meals are also where some of the most powerful moments of Jesus’ life happened. The disciples saw first-hand the power of Jesus by feeding the crowd with just five loaves and two fish. We may not be able to share meals with Jesus as the disciples did, but we can use food as a way to encounter God. Whether it be paying for the person in front of you at the drive-thru, dropping off food items to the local food pantry, or cooking a meal for someone going through a rough time, may we use food to help others encounter God in a new way. by Katie Lamoureux |
Friday March 5, 2021 Mark 7:1-23 Dear Heavenly Father, Help us to remain pure of heart. Guide us with compassion as we reflect on our daily actions and deeds. Let us remember that what passes in and out of our hearts is what truly defines us and the love and compassion we have for others. Open our hearts to allow this love to be seen by all we meet. Give us the wisdom to look beyond meaningless rituals so that we might focus on the importance of strengthening this love. Help us follow our hearts and allow your abundant love to bless our families, community and beyond. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen. by Stephanie Eckert | Saturday March 6, 2021 Mark 7:24-37 Something we all have in common is that we have, on several occasions, suffered hard times. How we handle those times may be different. It’s human to stress, get angry, and feel self pity. It’s Christian to leave it at God’s hands. Not so easy is it? However, the more we dig into our faith and trust in Him it gets easier. Peace of mind will surround you and you will see changes. Changes for the better. With the reminder that He is our protector and savior, those tough times will be easier to handle. With the faith of a mustard seed, we can move mountains. by Bridget Valdez |
